It has always been known that Africa contains the genetic blueprint of our evolution as human beings on this planet. Voices of the Ancients explores the stories of sacrifice and bliss, adventures and heroes, of endings and new beginnings.
Voices of the Ancients is a pilgrimage into the sanctity of soul in sacred places in our land. It initiates enquiry that leads to more profound truths about ourselves and our place in this world. It is an invitation to look deeply into the mystery of the individual identity.
This journey begins in Nitani, a place steeped in the glorious mysteries of days gone by, of ancient kingdoms and the unspoken secrets of Solomon’s Wall and Mapungubwe. In this timeless place, the Bushmen paintings reflect understandings that have changed little over thousands of years.
The next part of this journey takes us to Ghanzi – the home of the Bushman where we experience Bushman Shaman teaching the values of energy and healing through song, dance, transcendental states, ancient rituals and medicine walks through native land. It is here that we live among the Bushman in traditional huts.
Then we move on to Tsodilo Hills, known as “the Mountains of the Gods” – a place where primal energy and forces join, taking the individual to new levels of inner strength and self-perception. This is a place where eternal truths are spoken through more than 4500 bushman paintings – eternal truths of life and death, passion and integrity.
The Grand Finale takes place at Full Moon on Gaing-O, also known as Lekhubu Island. The Southern Lights of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans take your breath away as the setting sun colours the earth gold - and the blue of the lunar sky dances around you. Imagine standing on this surrealistic moonscape, eyes closed, arms stretched out, holding the setting sun in your one hand and the rising full moon in the other.
At that moment in time you become the centre of the Universe. We spend this night in luxurious camp surroundings, exploring the stars, dreaming... Time for reflection as we end this journey in Nitani, absorbing the enormity of this pilgrimage within.
